Q. You have recently seen a ‘Short Film’. Write a ‘Review’ on the same with the help of the following points:
Title of the film
A short film- Laddoo
Title of the film:
The title of the short film is ‘Laddoo’. The title is the important thing of the film. The story moves around it. The child wants to deliver laddoo to his grandpa so he is carrying them thought the film.
‘Laddoo’ by the director duo Sameer Sadhwani and Kishor Sadhwani is the story of a curious young boy. As per the Hindu Rituals, it is believed an offering made to ancestors on their death anniversary reaches them through pandit but the young boy fails to understand how this happens. Even as he struggles to comprehend this concept, he is entrusted with the imperative task of delivering lunch to the pandit on his grandfather death anniversary. Being the curious person, he does not give up and sets out on a little adventure to figure out the answer to his questions.
The presentation of the story and its theme is really noteworthy. In the form of the child’s thinking and dialogues, viewers get a clear idea of the story.
The photography is effective. It shows the emotions and journey of the child to fulfil his queries.
Being a short film, there is no scope for songs. The background music is supportive to the story.
Kumud Mishra – Maulvi
Kabir Sajid – Kid
Mansi Parekh – Mother
Rajkumar Kanojia – Begger
Alok Pandey – Watchman
The short film ‘Laddoo’ is a food for thought. The film gives a message that no matter the name we choose for God, Bhagwan, or Allah, they are all the same indeed. The strength of the film lies in its writing. The innocent questions of a child remind grownups the truth they have forgotten while raising imaginary walls and boundaries on the basis of religion. As per my opinion ‘Laddoo’ is a very good short film.
